Hello Fans!
Now that I'm once again at home with Lexi and have adorned myself with lots of good ole Virginia mud, I wanted to write to you all and tell you all about my latest gig!
About 7 dinners ago I once again found myself stepping into the moving stall for a trip! Only this time it was REALLY a moving stall! I mean it had lots of fresh sawdust in it and was all open inside, so I could walk around while we were moving and look out the windows. I had a bucket with water hung and my haynet, and I wasn't tied up or anything. It was cool! I got to stand any way I wanted and got to look out the window at stuff. We were moving really fast most of the time - almost as fast as I could run, if you can believe that! And I got to see what the growlers and howlers looked like - little humans in front of these big.....things. They were really close!
This trip was LONG! And wet. Water squirted into my windows almost the whole trip, and I had a wet nose. At one point the moving stall stopped and my humans fed me my dinner, just like at home. We were in a growler park or something, as they were on both sides of me. When I was done eating we were off again!
We finally got to the end of the trip at a place called Mass a 2sits or something, where this huge show was going on so people could see me. About the time we got there it finally stopped raining - for some reason this made my male human shake his head and start crying. I don't think he had nearly as relaxing a trip as I had for some reason - maybe he needs to eat and nap alot on the trips like I do.
Each day there I had to hang out in a huge building with my humans while millions of adoring fans came to ooh and awe over me. My old buddy from Ohio, Gallo, was also there and was up to his old stall-moving tricks again! There was another horse called Blanco who wasn't real friendly, and then there was Mercy. Mercy was my friend and we got to hang out together in the little arena thing sometimes. She was the teeniest thing, but she is soooo cute! And full of attitude! She wore bows in her forelock just like Lexi. (please don't tell Lexi about Mercy! She gets real jealous)
There were LOTS of other horses there too; they always seem to just show up at my events. Then there were these other guys that looked like horses, but had weird heads and HUGE ears! I was scared of the first one I saw, and asked him if it hurt to have his ears stretched. He said no, and that he could hear so good he could hear things that hadn't even happened yet. I wonder if he was just foolin me.......
At night my humans took me back to my barn for dinner, and then we'd go out into this arena and play. The male human would let me run and stretch my legs, and then we'd have school sometimes. Once I got to take The President for a ride! I had met her before, but she'd never gotten on me before. I hope she liked me and I can keep my job!
Anyway, after a bunch of warm and sunny days it got nasty and rainy again and my male human started laughing this weird, crazy laugh and said it must be time to go home. So off we went! This time not only did my my nose get wet, but it looked like we were driving through a cloud or something! I couldn't see real far, and noticed we were moving at a trot for a long time. Then we stopped at a strange farm and I spent the night with two new friends named Stormy and Tex.
Stormy was a nice looking older woman, a bit on the short side, but definitely a cutey. She was right next to me. Tex was on the other side of Stormy. He said he was a racehorse too, but had hurt his knee real bad and couldn't run anymore. Its a shame, because he's just a kid. But Tex is happy and both he and Stormy are really fussed over by the humans there - they get carrots every day! We also had these wierd things called "goats" walking around, and "chickens" that hung around screaming most of the night.
The next day we were off again. By this time I was beginning to wonder if my life was now just a series of road trips to new places every night! But when we started slowing down that day I knew WE WERE HOME! I couldn't WAIT to get out and see Lexi and find someplace to roll in the mud!
I attached a couple of pictures from my trip. One is of my little cutey, Mercy, and her human. Isn't she cute! The others are me in my moving stall, and at my show. Enjoy!
