Some quick updates for you!
RICH IN DALLAS - PUBLIC APPEARANCE
REMINDER - Rich In Dallas will be at the Equine Extravaganza this coming weekend, July 11 - 13th at the NC State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, North Carolina.
You can get full information on location, ticket prices, etc., on the website for Equine Extravaganza -

If you are in the area, please consider stopping by and saying hello to Dallas, and also to Paul Linn!
TAKE A CHANCE
Take A Chance has now fully recovered and is ready for retraining and adoption. He has been moved to Hidden River Ranch in Hesperia and has already fallen in love with his new neighbor, a sweet little mare!
He looks fantastic, and did VERY WELL under saddle! The trainer, Norma, says he has a great mind and just needs to learn some basics. He seems very happy to be learning something new and to have a job and a routine.
He is stunning to look at and here's hoping his special "someone" will find him soon!
I went to visit this past weekend and took some pictures and short video clips with my camera.

GIFFORD'S KID
This is the gelding who was at the Los Alamitos racetrack and was diagnosed with laminitis. Gifford's Kid, or "Adam" hasn't drawn the attention like some of our other horses have, but please take a look at this very sweet boy.
As you may recall from an earlier update, Adam still has laminitis in his left front and he also has pedal osteitis which is a disintingration of the coffin bone. At first we were devasted, but in talking with a few vets and farriers, it seems that he can probably be kept comfortable and even sound for light riding for many years.
The foster stable owner has put him on a hoof supplement as well as a Devils Claw and Yucca supplement to help with pain and inflammation, and Adam is doing great! He is so very sweet and unflappable that he may be the perfect horse for someone who just wants a nice horse to take a leisurely stroll on flat ground and be able to groom and baby and give treats.
Adam LOVES, LOVES, LOVES attention and people, and he appeared to enjoy the short time he was under saddle. Take a look at the video and realize this was about the second or third time he had been ridden since he came off the racetrack in August of 2006!
We have one member who has started sponsoring Adam, and one of Adam's former connections at the track will also help sponsor. If you live near Southern California, you are more than welcome to come and visit Adam (as well as Chance!) and give him some of the attention he craves! Also, we welcome more sponsors. Between hay, grain, supplement and farrier, his monthly care will cost around $225 per month.
