As we turn the corner on Winter, right now The Exceller Fund is in a "holding pattern" waiting for Spring and hopefully more adoptions of our horses.
Right now, our monthly expenses run between $5,000 to $6,000 for monthly care including feed, bedding, supplements, vet, and farrier. Currently our monthly donations are not quite keeping pace and we are working on eBay auctions and other fundraising ideas. However, this means that we cannot take in any new horses unless those horses come with dedicated sponsors.
NEW WEBSITE!!!
The website for The Exceller Fund has been in essentially the same format for just over 10 years. The board and and a number of our members felt that we needed to freshen up the website, so for the past year we have been working with a wonderful college student on designing a new website that has a cleaner look and better navigation and organization.
Please take a peek at the new site which will hopefully be going "live" in the next week.

CURRENT HORSES:
I received photos of Firstdowntouchdown who is currently located in New York at Triple L Stables:
He is really adorable, and his foster provider thinks he would make an excellent adoption prospect.
MEMBER CHALLENGE
I am sad to report that I have not seen any donations coming in from the Member Challenge we issued in December. There are two wonderful prizes available - one for the winner and one for the first runner up. Currently, Sandra Warren is in the lead with $200 in donations sent in her honor.
If you know that someone has sent in a donation in your honor, please contact me at mail@excellerfund.org and let me know the name of the donor and about when they sent to donation, and if it was sent by check, credit card or PayPal.
Remember - First place gets their pick of:
The second place member gets the prize that the first place member does not pick.
Our donations appear to be down for January and February, so if you haven't sent in your membership donations, please get them in! The horses need us now, more than ever!
NEW ADDRESS FOR DONATIONS:
After many years of exemplery service to The Exceller Fund, Jean Hembree has let us know that she will not be able to continue as our volunteer bookkeeper this year and has asked that we phase out her address for donations.
If you are sending a check, please send them to:

Remember - First place gets their pick of:
- A paperweight containing dirt from the original Santa Anita racetrack (let's hope they don't want everyone to bring their paperweights back after all the problems they've had with the new track!)
- A handsome special edition Breeders Cup 2007 towell donated by Loretta Tarnowlski.
The second place member gets the prize that the first place member does not pick.
